We take pride in sourcing materials locally whenever possible, ensuring quality and supporting our community. For example, the rough-cut siding showcased in our projects is harvested and milled right here in Durango and neighboring counties.

Growing up in Durango, Colorado, gave me a deep appreciation for this incredible place we call home. After graduating from San Juan College with a degree in carpentry, I worked in construction in Durango for several years before serving in the U.S. Army. When I returned, I used my G.I. Bill to attend Fort Lewis College and began building spec homes in 2002. During this time, I welcomed my first son, Morrgan, followed by Wyatt and Warren.

During the recession, I took on the role of project manager for a nonprofit organization, overseeing the construction of 50 affordable homes for veterans in Iowa. After completing this project, I relocated to Bozeman, Montana, to manage the construction of custom homes and duplexes. However, the harsh winters eventually brought my boys and me back to Durango, where we’ve made our forever home.

With decades of experience in construction and a passion for crafting high-quality structures, I am proud to lead Ironwood Outbuildings.
